Botanica Life Foundation is run by a Board of Directors, which is the supreme collective management body of the Foundation. The Board of Directors is appointed with a mandate of five years. For the period of its management, the Board elects a Chair who represents the Foundation and organises its activities.

I founded Botanica Life Foundation to change lives! My idea of change was to create an organisation which supports sustainable development and youth participation. Of all fields of sustainable development, I pay special attention to sustainable agriculture. My ancestors were farmers, and I know that this profession has brought development to Bulgaria and respect for this country among many other nations in the World.
Nowadays, there are many young people in Bulgaria who have dropped out of school, are unemployed, or emigrate to other, richer, countries. We can change this by helping them get back to education or start a business of their own in the field of sustainable agriculture. I believe that small-scale sustainable agriculture is a key to solving hunger, poverty and emigration among young people. Sustainable agriculture creates jobs, produces food and is environment-friendly. It means greener, healthier and fairer lives for everyone. It also means sustainable livelihoods for young people. Sustainable livelihoods mean a sustainable economy and a sustainable society. And is this not what we all want?
Apostol Apostolov holds a PhD in Social Sciences. He is not a professional farmer but is a farmer at heart. In 2008 he left his job as a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, UK, and returned to Bulgaria after more than ten years of living abroad. He has been working in the non-profit sector since then.

I became involved with the “idea” of “Botanica Life” from the very beginning, when it did not even had a name. I saw it grow and develop, flourish and take shape until it turned into a tangible project. In those early days I had the pleasure to contribute at a conceptual level, while today I do my best to contribute to the materialization of the project.
Botanica Life is incorporating in itself, in a brilliant way, two very important parts of human progress - care for the Earth and Education. If we make an effort to teach and inspire the future generations, to understand the close relationship between the health of the Earth and the health of the human, we can draw a much brighter future for all of us.

I have been a member of the Board since July 2015. It is a great pleasure and honor to be a part of the team. I have always wanted, along with my business duties, to support an organization aiming to show the endless opportunities and pleasures of living a life close to nature.I believe Botanica Life Foundation will be beneficial to people at the beginning o f their professional life, as well as to the new generation of young people who, in the world of electronics and networks, are becoming more and more alienated from nature. Botanica Life Foundation will show them a world, where modern day technology and nature connect and make us complete !
