Students and storks at Botanica Life’s gardens.
29.03.2018
Once again we meet with the students from the Professional High School of Agriculture Nikola Pushkarov from the town of Popovo. This time they visited us in the village of Nadarevo. Representatives of the school’s club, called "We Can Present", headed by Mrs Kalinka Kyuranova, are preparing for their participation in the international competition "The Earth: Known and Unknown", which will be held in the town of Sandanski on 20th April, 2018. The students are preparing a project in the form of a presentation and a short video on the topic of ecology and agriculture. We are pleased to help them promote the cause of healthy food, sustainable agriculture and the participation of young people in initiatives dedicated to land and nature. As Dr Apostol Apostolov, Chair of Botanica Life Foundation said: "The real change in the attitude towards land is yet to come, and young people, such as our guests today, will be the driver of change in future years."
The group was welcomed by Mrs. Galina Pencheva (a teacher at the foundation) and Dr Apostolov. We told them about the current work in the field and the garden, as well as about the principles of permaculture and sustainable agriculture. We also answered their questions. We showed them how to prepare tomato seedlings, and they were happy to get involved in the preparation of the upcoming harvest. They were very impressed by the flock of storks which kept us company in the field, as well as by the couple of storks, nesting each year right next to Botanica Life's grounds.
We wish our young friends lots of good luck in the competition. We are awaiting news from them and hope to meet them again soon. The students from the school are invited to join our forthcoming training courses and open-air activities starting in the summer of 2018.
