Practical seminar on building a clay oven with natural materials

31.08.2021

Clay, straw, cob - these are just some of the materials we will be using to build an oven for making homemade bread and other dishes. If you are interested in building with natural materials, and would like to learn how to build your own clay oven, you are welcome to join us at Botanica Life Foundation, in the village of Nadarevo, between 13th and 17th October 2021.

This Autumn, we are welcoming Peter Mogensen from Denmark, under whose leadership we will be building an oven in our yard. Peter is a teacher at Brenderup Folk High School in Denmark. Among the various activities he is involved in are: sustainable construction, sheep farming, organising and conducting hikes in the mountains of Nepal and in other interesting locations.

Peter has been a friend of Botanica Life Foundation since 2017. Our team visited Brenderup Folk High School, where we observed the Danish educational system of democratic schools. In 2018 we sent two volunteers to a three-week sustainable construction training course, led by Peter Mogensen himself.
