Between 13 and 17 of October 2021 Botanica Life Foundation hosted a practical seminar for construction of a clay oven with natural materials. Our guest speaker was Peter Mogensen, teacher at Brenderup Folk High School in Denmark.

The participants arrived in the early afternoon. After a short lunch, Peter presented the activities of the school where he teaches. A discussion of the oven construction process was held in the seminar room, where all the participants introduced themselves.Then the plan was made and the real work began. By the end of the day, we built the wooden structure that served as a foundation, and over the next few days the oven itself start rising up layer by layer. Despite the rainy and cold weather, our desire to gain new knowledge and learn from each other was stronger. We also realized how much patience is needed when working with natural materials, such as clay, stone powder and straw in order to avoid the cracs at the end of the drying process.

On the last day, the clay oven was ready and it was time to test it. The freshly baked bread with yeast, prepared by one of our participants, added the final touch to the dinner, served entirely with products from the Botanica's Gardens.
