On 15thMay 2022, we hosted a meeting with the talented poet, researcher and writer Ivelina Radionova. The event was organised in partnership with the community hall (Chitalishte) in the village of Nadarevo. The local people were very interested in the event and, although it was Sunday, and they had to do their work in the gardens, our hall was full. And there was a reason! Iva took us on a magical journey to the past - from the story of the icon painter Vasiliy, who painted the image of Desislava in the Boyana Church, through the times of the monk Anastasius from the island near Bourgas, protected by St. Anastasia, through various corners of Bulgaria in the past, and over to the Rhodope mountains and the story of Altana. Some of Iva’s patriotic verses made our souls tremble, while others brought us back to our childhood and to the valuable things in life.

The unique dolls, exhibited for the event in our hall, and made of felted wool by Rumyana Gercheva - a local craftswoman - also contributed to the good atmosphere in the house.

The visitors had an opportunity to receive an autograph from Iva who had brought with her many of her books.

We thank the Chitalishte and the people from the village who contributed to the festive mood of the event. We would also like to thank Iva for her big heart and the love she gives away to people!
