In the beginning of August, our training center became a “Thracian camp” because the children from “Happy Kids House” and the Montessori private kindergarten in Targovishte made their thematically oriented summer camp on our grounds. For 3 days, in addition to fun activities, games and excitement with the first trip without their parents, the children experienced the true spirit of Tracian life. Specially organized activities made the pupils participants in various Tracian traditions. For example, they made bread of spelt (an old grain), baked on fire. They also participated in a workshop for making clothes, shoes and jewelry. Another special experience was having henna tattoos. During these days, the coordinators of the group incorporated knowledge for the Thracian traditions and lifestyle and compared it with how we live nowadays.

We did not miss the opportunity to show the children our gardens and lake. We also took them for a walk to the nearest forest where they trained by making Spartan exercises.

The last days were full of children’s laughter, playful mood and many smiles.
