With a sense of joy and fulfilment, we welcomed part of the users of the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration of people with visual impairment in Shumen. Our guests, with special interests in art activities, nature and herbs, visited us in order to participate in a day, dedicated to the herbs and the upcoming of Enyovden.

Along with Lora Nikolova - a phytotherapist and nature pedagogue – the participants turned to the herbs in an unusual way, using their senses. The walk around the meadows, coloured and scented by herbs and flowers, inspired everyone to establish a deeper relation with the healing plants. We shared knowledge and experience in different usage of some herbs and we found new and unexpected characteristics of the plants. The blossom and the scent of the coriander plant surprised everyone and we are sure that it will be remembered.

Later on, we focused on the practical use of the herbs as aromatherapy and a tool for cleaning spaces, as a remedy and a component of cosmetics. We pointed the importance of knowing the plant and its qualities before starting to use it, and the need of consultancy with specialists before any types of therapies. All the participants took part, in different ways, in preparing various herbal products (a tincture, an ointment, a mouthwash and herbal mixes) and received some ready-to-use products. We hope to have more events of this kind with our new friends from Shumen.
