This summer, the team of Botanca Life Foundation, met Snezhanka Marinova-Koceva. Snezhana came to a training on sustainable agriculture, organised by us in the training centre of the Foundation in the village of Nadarevo. When you meet her, however, you understand that, sometimes, there are moments when teachers should lower their heads in front of their students. Snezhana is an agronomist with many years of experience behind her back, who had come to us to improve her skills in growing fruit and vegetables in an organic way. We found out that we also had what to learn from her because one learns all their lives! So, we did not waste time and visited her garden as soon as possible. Besides being an agricultural producer, Snezhana and her husband – Kostadin – are owners of a beautiful guest house in the beautiful village of Tsarevets, near Svishtov. This was another motivation for us to go on a study visit to them. We did it officially - Botanica Guesthouse visiting their guesthouse! As one would expect, we tasted the delicious meals prepared by the hosts, mainly with products from their own garden. We received a tour around the garden, talked about the different methods of mulching, and discussed the qualities of seasonal vegetables, such as kale, spinach, rocket, etc. Finally, we made a group photo in front of the most attractive plant in their garden – the magnificent laurel tree (Laurus nobilis) which welcomes every visitor to this wonderful place.
